Four Silver and Gilt Metal Pill Boxes, probably continental C19th/C20th
An interesting group of four pill boxes with hinged lids probably dating to the late nineteenth or early twentieth century. (1) Silver or Silver gilt of rounded rectangular form with elaborate floral filigree work set with blue enamel, the interior and base lined with blue enamel. (2) Oval shape with a hinged clasp, silver with a mother of pearl plaque to the lid with a rope twist border, the interior plain but marked ‘925’ for silver and with three additional marks presumably indicating the maker. (3) Silver or Silver gilt of rounded square form, a bold filigree work stylised floral design to the lid with a green glass bead to the centre and set on black enamel, the sides and base with chased floral work and a band of palmette leaves (4) Gilt metal of rounded square form with a floral ‘micro mosaic’ panel to the lid, the sides and base with embossed scrolling foliage designs, the interior with a removable liner tray.| Size: | x |
