Miniature Schiaparelli ‘Shocking’ perfume bottle, influenced by Salvador Dali and Surrealist artist Leonor Fini, after Mae West’s torso, introduced 1936, in original leather case, circa 1930s

 

The perfume bottle with frosted dabber stopper and multi-coloured glass flower decoration, the glass body decorated with a ribbon tape measure with script ‘Schiaparelli Shocking’, some contents remaining, the blue black leather case with gilt embossed ‘Schiaparelli Paris’ script decoration and pink lining

 

The bottles shape, inspired by Salvador Dali’s paintings and the sculptured by Eleonore Fini based on Mae West’s curvaceous torso, and draped in shocking pink was originally made in Czechoslovakia. It was re-launched in 1998.
