Small green Bakelite Trinket Box with Oriental designs, British 1950s

A small trinket box with rounded corners and a metal hinged lid made from green bakelite and decorated with oriental designs, the lid and base with stylised garden scenes, including pagodas, trees and rocks, the front and sides with floral sprays and the corners jointed with gilt block detail. The rounded form suggests the 1950s and the work appears to be English where bakelite was more often used for utilitarian pieces after the war.
