Victorian Black Watch iron doorstop c1890

This is a whimsical doorstop in the form of a Black Watch soldier. It is made of cold painting iron.>p The Royal Highlanders, also referred to as the Black Watch, was a famed Scottish regiment of the British Army. Part of its notability is due to its longevity, having been initially conceived in 1725.

Date: c1890
Condition: This is quite worn as it must have been standing outdoors. It still does the job and the patina is rather pleasing.
