LOT NUMBER 1
Danish Teak Wood Pendant Light, 1960s
A Danish teak wood Pendant Light with contemporary glass shades, the shaped top cross piece with two teak mounted glass shades at each end, the whole suspended from the ceiling by two electric wire cords.Teak wood and glass hanging lights were a popular form in Denmark in the 1960s and often exported, particularly to the UK. There are a wide variety of designs but all rely on simple and elegant wood shapes with complementary frosted glass shades. This example was purchased by the vendor in Copenhagen some years ago, and most probably came from a Danish household. Like many of these pieces it eventually found its way to England.
PLEASE NOTE This light fitting is in full working order but must be checked and possibly rewired by a qualified electrician. It is sold as a decorative item only
