LOT NUMBER 21
Art Deco Cicada Necklace, probably English 1930s
This is a very unusual necklace comprising horn that has been carved into beads and a complementary cicada pendant. Cicadas are a very common Art Deco motif and are seen mainly in brooches. The modelling here is highly stylised but more than a nod to this popular motif of the period. This is most likely the work of English craftsmen and most elegant in the simplicity of its design.Size: | Necklace is 63 cm, Large pendant is 50mm x 21mm |
