Pair of Art Deco polished chrome swivel Wall Sconces, probably French 1930s
A pair of polished chrome swivel wall sconces the arms with a typical Art Deco geometric design incorporating circles and the wall mounts similarly decorated with a hammer punched ground, the candleholders in a simple urn shape. The decorative motifs used here all point to the clean lines of the Art Deco style and there is little reason to doubt that these sconces were made during that era and they probably date to the 1930s. Many of the wall light fittings from that period were made in France and this raises the possibility that these were too, but there are no real parallels to help confirm their provenance.
