LOT NUMBER 16
Fine Quality small Japanese Blue and White Vase, C20th
A fine quality small Japanese Vase of rounded square form, the body slightly concave below a flaring neck and decorated in underglaze blue with lotus sprays, the top rim edged in blue and the countersunk base with a two character mark, presumably that of the artist. The form here suggests a sake bottle and there may have originally been a set of cups in the same design. Paste and decoration indicate a late C20th dating but there is much skill in both the potting and the design.Size: | Ht 13cm; Width (max) 6cm; Base diam 4.5cm |
