Beautiful trinket box in the shape of a bound book, onyx and brass, Austria 1950s
This is a very unusual trinket box comprising two heavy onyx slabs, fitted with brass which has been cast in the form of a book's spine, pages and clasps. The brass has been patinated to give a more 'olde world' look. There are four small ball form feet to the base and a stamped mark 'AUSTRIA'.
