LOT NUMBER 2
Edwardian ring with opal doublet stone and marcasites c1910
This is a very unusual ring that is set with a large oval opal doublet stone surrounded with dark marcasites to set off the opal. A doublet stone is a thin slice of an opal that has been fused together with another stone such as iron stone. The shank of this ring appears to be gold and the head is silver. It is marked rather illegibly but appears to be 900. This probably originated in Australia where these stones are found.| Size: | Table is 14.8 x 13.5 mm, Size UK N US 63/4 |
| Weight: | 2.2 grams |
| Date: | c1910 |
| Condition: | Very good condition, no issues. |
| Estimate: | £80 – 120 |
