A fine Jukun Figure, Africa, Nigeria, circa 1900
the tubular body pierced at the base for insertion of a metal rod (now missing), the raised navel framed by elongated arms joined at the front. the high neck supporting a highly stylised head with carved mouth, raised pierced nose, square ears and tubular eyes; very fine thick dark brown/black patina.
