扇面梅枝图,王中立,1606年
depicting a spray of cherry blossom, the colophon reads as: painted by Wang Zhongli in autumn, 1606, followed by two personal seals
Wang Zhongli, a Ming dynasty Zhejiang artist in the Wu School, active in Wanli to Tianqi period. Wang was good at bird-and-flower painting, a follower of Chen Chun (1483-1544). His paintings are in the collection of the National Palace Museum (Beijing) and Guangzhou Art Museum.
金纸扇面上绘有梅枝一节,款识: 丙午新秋戏墨,王中立,钤印二枚:子和,中立
王中立,明代吴门画家,活跃于万历至天启年间。师法陈淳,善花鸟,设色水墨兼生动有力。作品收藏于北京故宫博物院及广州美术馆。
