五彩人物大瓶, 18/19世纪
heavily potted and of elongated baluster form with an everted rim, decorated with figures in a rocky and tree lined landscape scene, depicting the Emperor seated with attendants and guards in front of four figures holding objects, one figure presumably Li Bai holding a boot, one side with a large rising cloud, the neck decorated with chrysanthemums and peonies in coloured enamels above a crackular pattern band in underglaze blue, the base unglazed
Li Bai (701-762), the famous Tang poet, is identified by his holding of a boot, as seen here, as he was of such bold character that he was known to have drunk wine from a boot before the Emperor
此五彩瓶瓶身高直, 沿口外撇, 丰肩, 腹部以下渐收, 瓶身以庭院为背景, 绘有李白喝酒人物故事, 瓶颈有牡丹菊花山石图样, 瓶底无釉
