Murano green bullicante glass Perfume Bottle and Stopper with label, second half C20th

A perfume bottle and stopper, the body of ovoid form with a short cylindrical neck and a wide flat rim, the stopper twist shaped, the deep green glass with minute ‘bubbles’ both clear and coloured, the stopper with gilt detailing. At the base is a paper label reading ‘Made in Italy’ ‘Murano’ ‘Venezia’ and apart from the general style, the ‘bubble’ effects seen here, known as the ‘bullicante’ technique (the word means ‘boiling’), are typical of Murano craftsmanship. The bullicante process was developed and perfected during the 1930’s by Archimede Seguso, but its use continued and the format of the label here suggests a dating to the 1970s or 1980s.
