LOT NUMBER 93
A pair of brass horse head Coat Hooks, English C20th
A pair of brass coat hooks in the form of horse’s heads the hooks each terminating in a horseshoe, the reverse hollow cast with a plate for attachment to the wall. This equestrian design seems to have been quite popular and occurs in two formats, one with a simple hook and one with a horseshoe as here which is clearly the preferable of the two. There was quite a fashion for brass ornamental wares in England before and after the war and this auction contains one or two other examples. These pieces were probably date to the 1950s or 1960s but are as practical today as when they were made!
