Japanese Arita Brush Washer, C20th
A small deep bowl with high slightly incurving walls and a lightly scalloped rim, decorated in underglaze blue with small floral blooms, peony representing Spring and prunus representing Winter, the base unglazed. The form suggests a brush washer and the paste of the foot an early to mid twentieth century dating.
