Large floral ivory white Bakelite buckle, British 1930s
This is a very large buckle in ivory white bakelite carved with leaves and flower heads set in an openwork ‘bow tie’ frame, the reverse with metal fitments for securing the belt and fastening the buckle. The naturalistic decoration here is something of a contrast with many of the Art Deco buckles produced although floral design brooches from the period are quite commonly found and there is enough abstraction in the design here to make this piece clearly representative of the period.Size: | 10.5cm x 6cm |
Weight: | na |
Date: | 1930s |
Condition: | Good condition but with one flower bud missing (see image 2) |
Estimate: | £50 – 80 |
