LOT NUMBER 14
Pair of Art Deco Style Wall Pockets, C20th
Truly Art Deco in style with geometric shapes, clean lines and rounded edge detail, and finished in a marbleised effect beige glaze, this pair of wall pockets or vases were most likely made during the Art Deco period, perhaps in the 1930s, but there are no marks beyond the impressed characters ‘F. 8.’ with a line underneath (rather less distinct on one of the vases than on the other) and there do not seem to be other examples either. But the form is, in a sense, iconic and a true reflection of the fashions of the era to be enjoyed as such today.Size: | Ht (max) 20.3cm, Width (max) 14cm, Depth (max) 6cm |
