LOT NUMBER 16
Amber Glass Bowl and stand, Stölzle Hermanova Hut factory, Czech 1930s
An Art Deco style amber glass bowl and stand, both with alternating segments of clear and patterned glass, the bowl with a flaring rim and the stand concave to match. This model can be seen in the pattern books of the Stölzle ' Hermanova Hut' factory situated in what is now Czechoslovakia. In 1805, Carl Stölzle founded two glass factories in Austria and by 1867 owned a further six in Austria, Bohemia and Hungary, the Heřmanova Hut' factory being founded in 1907. Many of the art deco style glasswares produced by the firm were made there and this bowl and stand, a matching combination not often found, typifies the styles of the era both in form and colour.Size: | Bowl 9 cm high, 23 cm wide |
Weight: | 2.4 kgs for both |
Date: | 1930s |
Condition: | Good condition generally, very small areas of roughness, probably original to the maunfacture, to certain places at the edges |
