Art Deco Moss Agate buckle, 1930s

This is an unusual buckle comprising two large discs of Scottish moss agate formed to create a shield design with a central boss, each mounted in silver and with silver clasps. The clean and simple lines of the design suggest a dating to the Art Deco era and the buckle would have made an elegant addition to the contemporary wardrobe.
Size: Each piece is 45 mm in diameter
Weight: 43 grams
Date: 1930s
Condition: Good condition generally with just a few flaws to the stones which are difficult to see without magnification and are probably due to usage.
Estimate: £30 – 40
