Miniature Violin and Bow in fitted case, C20th
While clearly not for the recital room, quite a few of these miniature violins seem to have been produced over the last hundred years or so, usually accompanied by a bow, as here, and with a fitted case. Truly novelty items, since, they clearly cannot be played, these pieces make an obvious gift for a budding musician or to celebrate the completion of a musical exam. The full size model is accurately represented with all the elements present and a good patina to the wood. The bow here clearly needs restringing but it is hardly unique in that respect. Otherwise, both the instrument and its case are in good order. This example is probably English and dating to the mid C20th but this is, admittedly, no more than an educated guess. It now awaits a new player!Size: | na |
