LOT NUMBER 40
Pair of slender green glass Vases with silver decoration, possibly French early C20th
A pair of light green glass vases of slender form with near cylindrical bodies and a flaring neck above an ovoid globular base with a spreading foot, each decorated in silver inlay with flowers (chrysanthemum) and geometric designs. In contrast to the previous lot, the shape here suggests the designs of the Art Nouveau era and the decoration certainly has a French feel to it which would be consistent with this. The elegance of this pair of vases is striking, probably an ornament for a mantel piece at the time and more than suitable for a mantelpiece of today.Size: | 15 cm high |
