Victorian pinchbeck brooch with paste stone c1900
This is a lovely brooch in a cartouche shape. It is built up to a dome shape with mounted flowers and leaves. It is also set with very bright paste stones. Pinchbeck is an alloy of copper and zinc, mixed in proportions to resemble the appearance of gold. It was invented by Christopher Pinchbeck, a London clock and watchmaker, around the early 18th century.| Size: | 48 x 33 mm |
